In a joint venture with Areva and Mott MacDonald, Skanska (AMS) delivered a contract to support the upgrading and renewal of the UK’s electricity transmission network. ACTiVE was the designated operated plant provider undertaking a variety of work over an eight year period.
The Project
It was during this contract, at the request of Skanska Utilities, that we developed our award winning ROCS safety feature.
The Work
The civil engineering work included:
- heavy foundations for transformers, reactors, quad boosters and other HV equipment and services
- infrastructure of piling, retaining walls, roads, drains, culverts, ducts and firefighting equipment
- building works of structural steel, cladding, brick and blockwork and building services
- HV cables and troughs
